This will be coming to most of you in letter form as well with updates on our ministry, but wanted to post for those that do not receive our quarterly newsletter.
Blessings Everyone,
It is with a heavy heart that I have to write this letter, but in accordance with my doctors, I unfortunately have no choice now.
For the past few months I have been seeing doctors here, as some of you already might know. They found lesions in my brain that are typically seen in the start of MS according to my Neurologist and Radiologist in the U.S. They also may think it could be Lyme disease, but there is much testing to be done for this.
I have done some blood tests and they came back abnormal as well in three areas, thyroid, CPA count and my IgM (fights autoimmune diseases). There is definitely something going on within my body. My symptoms have become worse to the point it affects my everyday work abilities and my fine motor skills.
I only say all this to you so that you may understand why the decision is made. We are going to have to go back to the U.S. so I can attain the healthcare appropriate for me. It will also give us the support for my wife and me as we look at the possible diagnosis of either MS or Lyme. Both have negative outcomes at the time, if I have Lyme it is in the very late stages of being caught and the damage already done cannot be repaired and if MS it will continue to deteriorate my body.
We have decided with the doctor’s permission and warnings to leave at the end of May (May 21st to be exact). There will be a couple people coming to help us with the process. Dr. Jayakumar has also agreed to this, and also warned like the doctors that I may have to go earlier if the symptoms become even worse and I can no longer manage them.
We requested and received release from our two-year commitment within the country, as I have to attain proper medical attention. We requested that any money left over would be saved for me to travel back and forth to India to continue teaching at the Seminary after I receive clearance from my doctors.
We truly love India and so desired to stay for the two years, but because of this we are not able to keep that commitment, and it breaks our hearts.
Thank you for your time and energy to this ministry and for all your prayers and donations you have given. It is a privilege to serve here, and I look forward to continuing this in the future in any fashion that I can. The money will be used for ministry that is in the account, and hopefully for me to some day return and teach in short stints.
If you still want to donate in order for me to return and teach periodically, then please continue to send your support and mark for the ministry of Dr. Alan Seymour with the REAP/BBCM organization/ministry.
In the Love of Christ,
Alan & Erin Seymour
